In celebration of International Women’s Month, this week’s roundup highlights a few stories about the contributions of African women across the domains of power.

Ghanaian cultural entrepreneur Hamanat Montia has curated the Shea Butter Museum in Ghana, which celebrates the work of women who process the shea butter from the farm to the final product. It honours their work as an important contribution to Ghana’s heritage as a shea butter-producing nation.  

The proportion of female lawmakers in African parliaments has increased since 2000, according to a DW news article. Yet, the progress towards gender equality remains uneven across the continent.
